SENIOR WELLNESS PACKAGE

Senior wellness packages are available for pets starting at 7 years of age—the recommended age to begin wellness visits every 6 months. This package is designed to be scheduled six months after your pet's annual exam. The senior wellness package includes:

Physical Exam

As dogs and cats get older, their health can change more quickly. That’s why we recommend physical exams every six months for senior pets. These bi-annual checkups help us catch potential issues early—such as arthritis, dental disease, weight changes, or internal conditions—before they become more serious. Regular exams allow us to keep your pet comfortable, healthy, and happy as they age.

EKG

An EKG (electrocardiogram) is a non-invasive test used to measure the electrical activity of the heart. In dogs and cats, it helps detect irregularities in heart rate and rhythm, such as arrhythmias, that may not be noticeable during a routine physical exam. Early detection of these issues allows for more effective monitoring and treatment of heart conditions.

Bloodwork

Yearly bloodwork is an important part of caring for senior dogs and cats. Bloodwork helps detect many common health issues that come with aging—often before any symptoms appear. This also includes thyroid testing, which is especially important for older pets, as thyroid imbalances can affect energy levels, weight, skin, and overall health. Early detection allows the doctor to begin treatment sooner, helping your pet stay healthier, more comfortable, and active as they age.

Urinalysis

Urinalysis is a simple but important test for senior dogs and cats. It helps detect common age-related health issues like bladder infections, diabetes, kidney disease, and bladder stones—often before any outward signs appear.

X-Ray

X-rays are a crucial tool for senior dogs and cats, helping us detect a wide range of health issues that become more common with age. They allow us to look for signs of heart and lung disease, cancer, or other internal abnormalities that may not be visible through a physical exam alone. Early detection through X-rays gives us the ability to treat problems sooner, improving your pet’s quality of life and overall health as they age.
